Students in fourth and fifth grade traveled to Stavanger to learn about the power of art in the midst of gentrification with the Argentinian artist Mariela Limerutti, who was revisiting her engravings made in 2008.

The engravings were made in front of the entry to each home as a protection inspired by Rangolis. Mariela introduced students to her work through photos from 2008 followed by a guided walk down Pedersgata to see the artworks.

Students learned how to take rubbings which they transformed into their own living homes. We can’t wait to share the finished art pieces!
