PYP Classroom teacher

Key Objectives of the Position

A PYP class teacher is a reflective practitioner who uses inquiry-based teaching strategies to create positive learning environments, which motivate and challenge all students in their class to become self-regulated and life-long learners.

The responsibilities are:

  • To teach, according to students’ educational needs;
  • To promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and of any class or groups of students assigned;
  • To assign students’ achievements and progress in according with the arranged agreed within the school;
  • To make records of and reports on the personal and social needs of students;
  • To communicate and consult with the parents of students;
  • To communicate and co-operate with persons or bodies engaged in school business outside the school;
  • To control and oversee the use and storage of books and other teaching materials provided for class usage and to supervise the work of classroom assistants relevant to the allocated class;
  • To maintain positive learning environment in accordance with the code of conduct set by school;
  • To contribute to the meetings, discussions and management systems necessary to co-ordinate the work of the whole school;
  • To review from time to time methods of teaching and programmes of work;
  • To advise and co-operate with the head of school and other teachers on the preparation and the development of the planning, teaching materials, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral arrangements;
  • Participate in arrangements for further training and professional developments as a teacher including undertaking training and professional development which am to meet needs identified in appraisal objectives;
  • To the familiar with the policy relations to all aspects of health and safety, paying particular attention to those aspects which related to the delivery of the curriculum and educational visits;
  • To promote equal opportunities within the school and to seek to ensure the implementation of the school’s equal opportunities and racial equality.

Required qualifications and experiences

The position of PYP classroom teacher requires that the successful candidate has:

  • A degree plus teaching qualification (or equivalent)
  • Evidence of continued relevant professional development
  • Experience with PYP (preferred)
  • Proficiency in English

Special education teacher

Key Objectives of the Position

A Special Education teacher is responsible for providing educational assistance to children with mental, psychological, learning, behavioral, or physical difficulties.

The responsibilities are:

  • Ensuring appropriate delivery of both special education instruction and related services as stipulated on IEPs.
  • Ensuring compliance by the school with all local laws and regulation relating to students with IEPs and students referred to special education.
  • Effectively communicating to parents and guardians the special education process including process for referrals, evaluations, annual IEPs, and re-evaluations
  • Facilitating IEP meetings using a strength-based and family centered approach
  • Coordinating with student’s special education team to ensure all documents are completed in a timely manner (according to local, and school policies and procedures)
  • Connect with special education team to ensure all team members (including parents) are prepared for the content of the meeting.
  • Coordinating with special education team to complete quarterly IEP progress

Required qualifications and experiences

The position of Special Education Teacher requires that the successful candidate has:

  • A master’s degree in special education and certification in Special Education; or a Bachelor’s Degree and certification in Special Education
  • Evidence of continued relevant professional development
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate
  • effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, parents, families, and community members.
  • Adhere to a high level of professional and ethical standards.
