About Sandnes International School
Sandnes International School (SDIS) is a school for students aged 6-16 years of age. The school is approved by The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training(Utdanningsdirektoratet). SDIS the first international independent school established in Rogaland and the only international school in Norway that is an UNESCO school.
SDIS is authorized by International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) to offer the Primary Years Programme.
SDIS think about education as an experimental and experiential journey. SDIS have moved away from rigid frameworks and created a creative and innovative approach that challenges traditional boundaries and enables every student to discover their sense of self, meaning and purpose in our ever-changing world.
- March 2015: Sandnes International School was established.
- August 2017: SDIS opens its doors in Vatne with 17 students from the local community.
- August 2018: SDIS began as a PYP candidate school.
- February 2021: SDIS is was authorized by International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) as an IB World School or the PYP.
