Tell us about your background
I was born and brought up in the south of India, in my hometown. After my studies I got married. Few years later we moved to Malaysia with my husband and son. We stayed there for 7 years. Then we came to Stavanger with my husband and 2 kids in 2007. I started my first teaching job in 2008 at BISS. I have almost 8 years of experience working as a teacher assistant, floating member of staff and a substitute teacher. Now, I am here at SDIS.
What inspired you to be a teacher?
The teaching job is the only field that we can spend more time with kids if we have patience. I really felt, teaching everyday helps me to improve my skills.
What is the best part about your job?
The best part of my job is to make kids understand the tasks and to see “Yes, I got it!” with smile. I am happy to see their independent work. This would be remembered for the rest of our life.
I am happy and thankful to Sandnes International School for giving me this great opportunity to work with kids.
What do you hope to achieve by being a teacher?
I always encourage kids to be calm, think positively and be motivated to achieve their goals.
